ON THE DOT:

Drawing Easy Procreate Illustrations Using Dots

If you thought dots are just dots and nothing more, you’re in for a fun and exciting ride. Because guess what- dots make up EVERYTHING! From the cells in your body to the pixels in your TV screen- you can visualize pretty much anything as a collection of dots. So, why not use dots to tell a visual story?

In this class, I guide you through some very easy and fun bite-sized projects and secretly teach you some of the key features of the Procreate app along the way! What’s special about these projects is that, throughout all of them, we are going to take the humble dot, and push it as far as we can. Besides, I show you how you can make your very own dot stamp brushes on Procreate and use them in some deceivingly easy and ultra creative ways in your drawing and illustration journey.

The class is packed with ideas and inspiration, tips and tricks and actionable bite-sized projects that leave you feeling accomplished.

SYMMETRY MASTERCLASS:

Unlock The Potential of Symmetry in Procreate

Imagine illustrating by doing just a fraction of the work you do and having a perfect little elf mimicking you to complete the rest of it simultaneously! Symmetry in Procreate is exactly that elf that makes your life that much easier- and better!

The symmetry features are some of the most under-rated tools on the highly intuitive and amazingly user-friendly digital drawing app- Procreate. They’re so useful in creating extremely satisfying digital illustrations and drastically cut down on your workflow time- maybe even by half, one-fourth or even one-eighth! And time being the most precious thing on the planet, why would you not want to save every little bit you can?

Join me as we take a deep dive on everything to do with Symmetry on the Procreate app.

PROCREATE FLORAL ILLUSTRATION:

From Botanical Elements to Composition

Is there anything more evergreen than botanicals? Trending styles may come and go, but the world of florals always has a place in art and design. You can throw them in to pretty much any art piece for an instant visual elevation. And with the flexibility and convenience of digital art on an app like Procreate, you can bring your very own botanical pieces to life just about anywhere.

If you’ve ever tried to create floral illustrations I’m sure you can relate to this dilemma: What type of flowers should I create today? Why do my flowers not have character? Is there a different shaped leaf I can explore? Why does my composition look unbalanced? We are addressing all this and more in this class.

This is a class on using inspiration right from the natural world and translating it into modern minimalist botanical compositions bursting with personality!

PATTERN PLAY IN PROCREATE:

BLEND WITHOUT BLENDING:

Fun Gradient Techniques for Flat Illustration

In this unique and innovative class, we will explore techniques that allow you to blend two blocks of color without physically mixing the colors  together. These techniques are particularly useful for illustration mediums that are challenging to blend, such as acrylic paint markers (for example, POSCA markers). However, they can be applied to any opaque medium including acrylic paints, acrylic gouache, pen and ink, paper cutting or even digital drawing tools like Procreate or Adobe Fresco.

We will start by delving into the basic concepts that define a gradient and understanding what makes it so appealing. From there, we will dive into the exciting realm of blending without blending, exploring various methods and approaches to hacking ombre effects that will revolutionize your artistic practice.

Join me as we learn to blend without blending!

LETTERING CLASSES

LETTERING CLASSES

HAND LETTERING PRACTICE:

Three Easy Steps To Explore New Typography Styles

Letters are just like us. They come in all sorts of shapes, forms and even personalities! What if I told you that you have the ability to develop your own unique lettering styles from scratch through practice and exploration?

In this class, I teach you how to develop lettering styles through a structured approach using my 3-step process of building letters. I’ll take you through these steps in detail and show you exactly how I put them to use to develop multiple styles of a single letter.

Besides, you'll build a big library of your own lettering styles that you can refer to for future projects. Plus, you get to watch my entire process of developing nine different variations of a single letter from start to finish. It’ll be like you’re sitting right next to me in my studio as I get lost in my letters!

NEGATIVE SPACE LETTERING WITH WATERCOLOURS:

"When in doubt, leave it white." says American Art Director Gene Allen. I say why wait for the doubt?

This is an introductory class on how to paint negative space letters with watercolor. Discover here how you can take your hand lettering and watercolour skills to the next level using negative painting and layering techniques that you cannot achieve with any other medium.

As you create alongside me while you take this class, you will be able to experience all the magic and the challenges that you see me talk about in the class. You will get a hands-on feel of the techniques used and be able to practice as much as you need to. We will go through the entire process of creating these pieces right from brainstorming the lettering style and layout to sketching and finally painting these pieces. You will see all the juicy behind-the-scenes that artists generally don’t let out because a beautifully designed piece often starts off from a messy design phase.

HAND LETTERING AND BEYOND:

Negative Space 3D Lettering With Watercolours

What’s better than hand lettering? 3D lettering of course! This is a class on creating 3D lettering with watercolor paints using white space in clever and intriguing ways. You will learn not only how to bring your lettering to the third dimension but also how to add more interest with negative space techniques using watercolors.

Learn the basics of drawing three-dimensional letters with an in-depth demonstration of not just the ‘what’s and the ‘how’s but also the ‘why’s. Warm up your brush-control skills using some simple and effective brush control exercises before you move on to using negative-space painting techniques to paint your 3D letters.
